The fruit-coat fats of Rhopalostylis sapida, R. baueri (Palmae), Elaeocarpus dentatus (Elaeocarpaceae) and Nestegis cunninghamii (Oleaceae) and the seed fats of E. dentatus and N. cunninghamii contain as their major fatty acids palmitic 11–35%, oleic 13–68%, and linoleic 16–31%. The seed fat of E. dentatus contains 10% hexadecenoic acid and the fruit-coat fat of N. cunninghamii 13% linolenic acid.  相似文献

Colchicine binds to a protein fraction isolated from Phaseolus aureus. A protein with characteristics similar to calf brain tubulin, in terms of its MW, elution properties from DEAE cellulose, precipitation by Ca2+ ions and Chlorpromazine was detected in whole cell supernatants. This protein consisted of two monomeric subunits with MWs of 56000 and 53000. This protein, tentatively identified as tubulin, was compared by cyanogen bromide peptide mapping with calf brain tubulin.  相似文献

Three glycoproteins, designated as F, M and S glycoproteins were identified in the HClO4-soluble fraction of ascitic fluid of Ehrlich ascites tumor by 8% polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis. They were separated and purified as described previously (Reznick, A.Z. and Winzler, R.J. (1973) Fed. Proc. 32, 368 and Reznick, A.Z., Allen, H.J. and Winzler, R.J. (1973) Anal. Biochem. 52, 395–401) and subjected to physical characterization. Several physical properties such as molecular weights, sedimentation and diffusion coefficients, partial specific volumes, Stoke's radii and frictional ratios were determined. The physical parameters of F and S glycoproteins resemble data that have been reported for orosomucoid and haptoglobin-like glycoproteins, respectively. Properties of M glycoprotein could not be associated with a known glycoprotei.  相似文献

The efficacy of ground Ricinus communis fruit, with and without Bacillus species, was tested on suppression of Meloidogyne incognita, growth of tomato, soil electrical conductivity (EC) and soil pH. At harvest, 85 days after applying Ricinus organic amendment, Ricinus and initial population nematode density (Pi), accounted for 64–74% of the total treatment variation (TTV) in final population nematode density (Pf) and 53–89% of the TTV in dry shoot weight. Ricinus, Pi and electrical conductivity accounted for 49–69% of the TTV in fresh fruit weight, whereas Ricinus, Pi and Bacillus accounted for 65–82% of the TTV in plant height. Because Bacillus×Ricinus interaction was not significant (P > 0.05) for any variable measured, the efficacy of Ricinus fruit meal was independent of microbial activities.  相似文献

 The floral morphology of seven Oxypetalum species and, in particular, the spatial relationship between the five stigmatic chambers and two separate ovaries of their flowers with respect to transmission of the pollen tube are studied. In all species, except O. banksii subsp. banksii, floral morphology is similar to that in other Asclepiadeae, and the flowers pollinated with one pollinium develop only one follicle, which means compitum absence. In O. banksii subsp. banksii flowers, the secretory interstaminal tissue lines the inner walls of the stigmatic chambers as in the other species studied, but it also reaches the upper part of the inner surface of the filament tube, where it surrounds the styles, an unprecedented feature for Asclepiadaceae. This tissue secretes nectar and mucilage; the latter acts as transmitting medium for the growth of pollen tubes from pollinia inserted and hydrated in stigmatic chambers (“hyperstigmas”). Mucilage also functions as an extragynoecial compitum: in flowers pollinated with one pollinium both carpels develop into a follicle. An obligatory anaerobic bacterium was isolated from a mediator-less microbial fuel cell using starch processing wastewater as the fuel and designated as EG3. The isolate was Gram-positive, motile and rod (2.8–3.0 μm long, 0.5–0.6 μm wide). The partial 16S rRNA gene sequence and analysis of the cellular fatty acids profile suggested that EG3 clusters with Clostridium sub-phylum and exhibited the highest similarity (98%) with Clostridium butyricum. The temperature and pH optimum for growth were 37°C and 7.0, respectively. The major products of glucose and glucose/Fe(O)OH metabolism were lactate, formate, butyrate, acetate, CO2and H2. Growth was faster at the initial phase and the cell yield was higher when the medium was supplemented with Fe(O)OH than without Fe(O)OH. These results suggest that Fe(III) ion is utilised as an electron sink. Cyclic voltammetry showed that Clostridium butyricum EG3 cells were electrochemically active. It is a novel characteristic of strict anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria.  相似文献
